About the Hurricane Combat Arts System
Hurricane Combat ArtsTM is an eclectic, mixed martial art / street combatives system which blends tools, concepts & applications from JKD/Wing Chun, Choy Lee Fut & Hung Ga Kuen Gung Fu, Muay Thai, Pentjak Silat Serak, with Modern Grappling and Russian military H2H combative concepts, covering the 3 ranges of combat, i.e. striking, clinch & groundwork.
There are no belts, forms, kata, or point tournament training, just straight up dirty street martial arts/combatives. The practitioner learns basic theories, footwork, camming, chokes and striking weapons (Tools). They next learn to blend these with natural reactive "Primary Moves & Entries" against all angles of attack, with multiple strikes, levers & element combinations, flowing into finishing moves of submissions or destruction. Instead of being taught memorized, set pattern techniques, practitioners learn to read attacks & weaknesses, then "create techniques" instinctively. Advanced students are introduced to knife fighting & defenses,  common & improvised weapons use / defense, Mook Jong (Wooden Dummy) and Iron Palm / limb conditioning.
The goal of the HCAA student is to destroy or detain an attacker within the first seconds of confrontation, acheiving maximum impact with minimal effort.
HCAA makes no claim to be "innovators" of a new "ultimate style" or offer our students "devastating results in six easy lessons!"
It takes lot's of hard work, sparring and aliveness in training to become proficient in any practical fighting system, so we consider the Hurricane system to be one of many ways and not "the" way.
All fighting styles have something to offer, and all have their strengths and weaknesses, with the strengths and weaknesses being dependent on the individual, not the style. We keep an open mind and will continue to maintain an attitude of the eternal student, instead of the eventual master.
